About us
Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe that through education and raising awareness, we can change the course of a disease in a patient and enhance the quality of life.
Through this coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Health Assist Trustees (who are Scientists/Health Care Professionals) saw that a huge number of people were struck down with COVID infections and those who were seriously ill with severe infections ending up in hospital, with some even dying.
During this time, we learned that there were inequalities in health amongst different races in England, specially in deprived areas of Barnet, London (our base for local projects) to other similar places across the country. This was highlighted by a combination of various prevalent diseases/conditions and COVID-19.
South Asians, particularly of the Indian Subcontinent, and the Afro-Caribbeans (Black, Asian, and Minority ethnic or BAME or BME) were more affected than Indigenous White Caucasians.
The Trustees were so moved by this discovery that they were inspired to set up the Health Assist Charity to start a disease awareness campaign for the lay public.

Our approach
Our Mission
Our mission is to advance public health benefits through disease awareness campaigns for patients and their carers.
Whether it is disease education, raising awareness, referral to the General Practioner (GP), or simply reassurance that people are not alone, we will try to ensure that everyone gets the support they need to be better equipped with knowledge.
Our Vision
We want to enhance the health of people through early treatment and improved lifestyle by alleviating various debilitating and even fatal diseases that are prevalent.
Our entire team would love to see a world where every person experiencing a disease feels that he/she can get help. We can help them through disease education, to raise awareness for early treatment. We want to spread the word so people are better equipped with knowledge on diseases.
